We consider teaching to be not only a valuable contribution to the learning of other students, but also a valuable learning experience for the teacher themselves. We provide courses ("Assistant Instructor", "Instructor" and "Club Instructor") to provide those students at higher belts with the skills needed to transmit their knowledge to others. These courses are mandatory for progression through the higher belts. The same is true of first aid courses, which are provided by Jitsu Canada and must be kept up to date in order to qualify for gradings at brown belt and above. In addition to these supplementary courses, Jitsu Canada runs a series of seminars on various aspects of the style, including a nage-no-kata course (based on a series of throwing techniques used as a demonstration of the style).
